Happy 1st March =)
On 1st March my classmates and I went to school earlier, this way we could give everybody martenitsi. I was very enthusiastic because this day means that the spring is here. My enthusiasm was killed because of the sleepy faces of everybody and the morning was not what I expected.
After school we went to the local resident home to give martenitsi to the old people. Some students also read about the day and the traditions and shared some poems about the spring. Oh, I forgot to say that I gave our hand made tree (I told you about it before) to the manager of the home and in return they had prepared for us a wall pane.
I always say that it’s a great pleasure to be there and to see the smile on their faces but this time it wasn’t. This time some girls and I went to the rooms of the very old people and it was horrible. I felt so depressed. It was the smell and their look that made me sad. Just like on the movies the sun hid and I felt cold. Fortunately, something broke this mood. It was our favourite grandfather. He came into the hall singing for us. He’s just amazing, every time we go there he is singing and smiling. He can imitate various animals’ sounds and makes everyone around him happy.
So it was a good day!
