Charity club meeting

Today we had a charity club meeting. We discussed the holiday for the people from the local Retirement Home. We are organising a photo exhibition to make them happy. I have shared my positive attitude with these people. When you are a teenager you expect that old people are boring, but it’s not like that. When you meet them, you appreciate them. They are so positive and I love visiting them. So I am looking forward to organising this exhibition.

Trip to Sofia

On 21^st April we went on a trip to Sofia. Finally! It was the first time we were allowed to travel by car, so it was the greatest trip. Imagine the scene from the American films – music, laugh, jokes and great fun! First, we checked into Hotel Rodina. Then we went to the zoo, where we saw all kinds of animals. In the afternoon we visited the National Historical Museum, where we observed objects related to archeology, fine arts, history and others. It was a great experience as we could actually learn something interesting. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures, but I have posted some links to their sites below.

Ludo competition 

On 17^th April we organized a ludo competition – the second part. The first time we had such a competition was the previous week when I lost. So it was time for revenge. And I got it! Anyway, the result was not that important. It is the game that gives you positive emotion. We are friends and it’s just a game. We laughed a lot, relaxed from our school activities and ended the day charged with positive emotions.  

Open days at the college and art make-up

On 22^nd March Veliko Tarnovo celebrates its holiday. It is one of my favourite days of the year, when I always have a great time. Anyway, this was not the case this time. I was in school till 10 pm, but it is not important. In the morning, our school had the so called “open doors” and there were many visitors. I took part in making cards for charity. The strange technique we used this time was painting with potatoes. We created forms from a potato, used some dye and put it on coloured paper. In the end, we were all dirty, but the cards were very sweet.

In the afternoon, we went in one new cosmetic shop, where we had our face made up. The girls who worked there gave us some ideas about our make up for the prom. We also discussed the art of make-up techniques which I find to be very interesting. In the end, we were all beautiful and ready for celebration.

Table tennis

Today my ex-classmates and I organized a little table tennis competition. This was one of the funniest activities recently. I should confess that I am not a good player, but luckily I had quite good performance. Some years ago, I was playing tennis and today I remembered those days. It made me a bit sad, but we should remember such days with good.

 

Charity concert

On 14^th March we visited a charity concert, taken out by thirteen schools. Of course, the performances were not professional, but the effort that everybody put has to be appreciated. I enjoyed it a lot and found something beautiful in each one. I remembered some of the songs we were listening in primary school and I felt wonderful. Expectedly, I enjoyed the most the performance of my classmates. They presented a dance of Michael Jackson and sang a few songs. All in all, it was a great concert.

Theater 

On 13^th March we went to the local theater to watch “Ladies room”. To be honest I didn’t like the way that the actors played, but the performance as a whole had its idea. It was about teenagers and the drama was all around. There were love and cheating, money, drugs and alcohol. On the other hand, the characters totally differ - there was the feminist, the unfaithful boyfriend and his depressed girlfriend, the sensitive girl and the gay, who was the smart one. During the play, he was revealing the main idea about how short our life is and that we have to love each other, because all bad things we do have consequences. The thing that I liked the most was the finale. It was colourful and beautiful. Actually the end was sad, but it touched me; it made me think about my life and I realized how meaningless our problems are.

Baba Marta Day

On 1^st of March all Bulgarians celebrate Baba Marta Day. It symbolizes the beginning of the spring and is one my favourite holidays. On this day we give each other bracelets which are called martenitsi and are made of white and red threads. The red colour symbolizes vital energy and the white one – purity and happiness.

We gave martenitsi to all students of the college, wishing them health and joy. For me, this day means better time and makes me dream of my favourite season - the spring and its beautiful flowers. Happy Baba Marta Day!

Making martenitsi 

On 28^th February we made martenitsi for Baba Marta Day. We had a great fun while doing it, because no one knew exactly how the martenitsi have to be made. In the end the results were great, as always. These martenitisi are going to be given to the students of the college. I will tell you about the results on 1^st of March.   

Charity club meeting

On 27^th February we had charity club meeting. We discussed our future activities and distributed everyone’s tasks.  I guess I will have my exams when some of the greatest campaigns of the club are carried out, but that’s life. I have to study! All in all, there was nothing special about that meeting. I’ve already shared my negative attitude to this kind of activities, so there is nothing else to say.
